Essay death

Why am I doing a program that has required me to write about 56 pages of essay in the first semster, when I hate HATE HATE writing essays? I wish I could just paint or something all the time. Maybe next semster will be better? I'm going to be teaching little children. Little children don't care if I can write properly in APA or if I understand the nature of science. I'm okay...I just hate essay writing.
